Hot events Pretty home, pretty me…

Bank holiday weekend starts in just a few hours and I’m already excited about the bank holiday offers at House of Fraser in Centrale and their newly launched home department. They’ve got 20% off certain goodies and if you make a purchase you’ll get 3 hours of parking for free!

Now the common turn of phrase is a “tidy house, tidy mind” but I follow the motto “pretty home, pretty me”. I’ve got my eye on this cute cushion and think it would really brighten up my cream sofa. At £30 I thought it would be a great way to transform my living area without drastic re-decorating.

I’ve also been pining after this sleek and novel tea-light holder from the new Casa Couture range. This is £30 as well, which is a small price to pay for the romantic atmosphere it will create. I’m really looking forward to blogging by candlelight and think of all the electricity I’ll save. There’s also a competition to win £1000 to spend on the Casa Couture range (which I would have no trouble spending).

So these purchases will make my home pretty, but what about me?

I think this slinky dress would be ideal for bank holiday parties. It’s £70 from the Warehouse department and I think the ruffles will look great on the dancefloor. The tiered shape and nipped in waist will work wonders for my figure flattering my lumps and bumps.

After my purchases I’m going to check out what’s going on in the store. In the food court there is menu tasting going on and even a cookery demonstration from Phil Wells from Great British Menu. I’m not sure he can do much for my cooking skills so I’ll probably check out the beauty masterclasses and fashion trend workshops instead – far more my cup of tea!
